Ken enjoyed a life of success, travels and love. Ken was an adventurer and he especially loved to travel. He also had a passion for horticulture and was an incredible baker who enjoyed sharing his baked goods with family and friends alike.
In his early years, Ken was raised by his stepfather along with his siblings. Although his mother passed early in Ken’s life, he had a happy childhood. He would move to Chile as a young adult to spend time with his biological father and his family. Ken
was blessed to have two fathers that loved him dearly. Ken was always blessed in twos and aside from two fathers, he would have two loves in his life. His partner of many years, Robert Foti, passed away in 1992. When Ken thought he would never find that kind of love again, fate brought him into a new relationship for almost 30 years.
Ken valued education and never really stopped learning. He was a certified hypnotherapist, earned a bachelor’s degree, and an MBA. To say Ken was well educated is an understatement! When he decided to retire from the corporate world at the young age of 48, he went back to school again and became a pastor completing his chaplain certification and a Masters of Divinity. He especially cherished the friendships made during his studies at Iliff School of Theology.
His early pastoral years were spent as a hospital chaplain, a job Ken loved. He would eventually find his calling in Laramie, WY to serve at the United Church of Christ where he nurtured the congregation through COVID while overseeing renovation of the historic 1890 church building. He was especially proud that Saint Paul’s, through its endowment demonstrated love in action by giving tens of thousands of dollars to dozens of local charities each year. He ended every service with the statement “Our worship is ended, let our service begin”.
He believed in community and enjoyed working with other faith organizations in the Laramie Ministerial Association. He had a passion for social justice and equality, serving on various boards, including Wyoming Equality, Wyoming Interfaith Network and the Rocky Mountain Conference, UCC, as well as engaging with organizations such as PFLAG and Laramie Pride.
Ken should be remembered for his incredible heart and his thoughtful gifts. He was always thinking of his family, and supporting them, even though they were often miles away. He loved his family unconditionally, as he taught them to love. Ken leaves a large hole in the hearts of his loved ones.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, maternal and fraternal grandparents. He is survived by his husband, Don Denham, his father, George Ingram, his siblings Georgette Sturm (David), Glenna Campbell (Richard), Mike Jagiel (Debbie), Donna Nichol (Doug), Stephanie Teson (Tim), Chrissy Cotts (Luis) and Christopher Ingram, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great nephew.
