You Made It Happen

Dear Friends, Members & Allies

There’s no way around it—2017 has not been easy. Our state and our country are facing clear challenges. Wyoming is deciding who we are as a people and what we value. The promise of America—the promise that everyone has the right to equality—is at risk for too many.

But the future isn’t set in stone. Every day at Wyoming Equality, we’re renewing hope for a kinder, brighter tomorrow with every action we take.

Since January 2017:

  1. We marched in solidarity with Wyoming Women March, supporting women like Wind River Two-Spirit activist and poet, Darah Perez

  2. With your help we defeated two bad bills, HB 135 and HB 244, which would have legalized discrimination against the LGBTQ community and made bathrooms unsafe for trans Wyomingites

  3. We passed a non discrimination resolution in Cheyenne. Gillette and Douglas and support the continuing efforts to pass NDO’s around the state

  4. We hosted the first high school GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) Citizen Lobbyist Day at the Legislature and Supreme Court

  5. We helped Equality State Policy Center put on citizen lobbyist trainings around the state

  6. Celebrated Pride in Cheyenne, Jackson, Gillette, Casper, Laramie and the impressive 100 people who turned out for Pride in Pindedale

  7. We created a GSA(Gay Straight Alliance) Coordinator position and welcomed Jordan Ostrum to our staff

  8. We hired Sara Burlingame as our Executive Director and she has been busy spreading the word of LGBTQ equality

And the truth is we could not done any of it without your support.  We are grateful beyond belief and we want you to know that you make a difference. Every day. Your financial help makes this work possible.

If you can donate $10 or $1,000- whatever amount fits your budget- we are pledging to keep up the fight. With your help, we will bring equality to Wyoming.

With hope, solidarity and love,

Sara Burlingame
Executive Director

John King
Board Chair
