Transgender Americans are under attack like never before, Friends—and Wyoming’s Governor Matt Mead & Superintendent of Education Jillian Balow is recklessly helping to lead the charge.
Governor Matt Mead & Superintendent of Education Jillian Balow joined with nearly two dozen other states in pushing a harmful lawsuit attacking transgender Americans. The goal? To enshrine transgender people as second-class citizens under the law and make them more vulnerable to discrimination than ever.
For years the federal government has interpreted existing Title IX and Title VII laws to extend coverage to transgender Americans. Because of the Administration’s actions, public schools must respect students’ gender identity when it comes to using the restroom, health care companies are not allowed to deny coverage to patients just for being transgender, and transgender workers have a path to legal recourse if they are fired for being who they are.
But now, Governor Matt Mead & Superintendent of Education Jillian Balow is determined to strip away all of these protections. Sign our petition telling Governor Matt Mead & Superintendent of Education Jillian Balow to stop these horrific anti-transgender attacks and we’ll hand-deliver your signature to the Governor.
This summer a federal judge issued an extreme ruling in the lawsuit against transgender students. So now, as the case awaits consideration by a higher court, Attorney General Peter Michael needs to know that his involvement in this case is about so much more than signing their name to a piece of paper.
It’s about wasting Wyoming’s taxpayer dollars to dehumanize transgender people across our country.
That’s why we’re teaming up with our national partners at Freedom for All Americans and supporters like you to send a clear message to Governor Matt Mead & Superintendent of Education Jillian Balow: The people of Wyoming will not stand for this.
Thanks for taking a stand,
